Local Information

KENTUCKY

If you have questions about Kentucky state government, you may want to check out the Legislative Research Commission’s website at http://lrc.ky.gov.  The LRC is a fact-finding and service body for the Kentucky legislature, and it’s website is full of information regarding state government.  There you can research Kentucky law, look up meeting schedules and information about visiting the Capitol, track current legislation, etc.  If you need further assistance, feel free to contact me.

UNITED STATES

Each state has two U.S. Senators and a number of congressmen determined by its population.  Kentucky’s two Senators are Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning.  Kentucky has 6 congressmen.  If you live in the Oldham County portion of my district, then Congressman Geoff Davis is your representative in Congress.  If you live in the Jefferson County portion of my district, then Congressman John Yarmuth is your representative in Congress.  Click on their names to contact these gentlemen with any questions you have pertaining to the Federal government.  They all have district offices located throughout Kentucky as well as offices in Washington, D.C., and their staffs will help you with arranging tours of the Capitol, obtaining service academy nominations for students, Veterans’ Affairs, Social Security issues, passports, immigration issues, etc.

LOCAL

Oldham County government information can be found at www.oldhamcounty.net.  If you’re in Jefferson County you’ll want to see louisvilleky.gov.  These sites contain information about who your magistrate or councilman is, local ordinances, local government jobs, parks, services, etc.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Chambers of Commerce work hard to improve communities and grow local economies.  Greater Louisville, Inc. and the Oldham County Chamber of Commerce both work hard to create business opportunities that will benefit everyone in our area.

NEWSPAPERS

Local news can be found in the Courier-Journal, which also has a special Oldham County “Neighborhoods” section, the Oldham Era, and the RoundAbout.
